    Renewing her passport can be done nearer the time. We've just renewed my wifes passport here at the Royal Thai Embassy. However, at present, it does mean a trip to the Embassy in London and details are on their website. New passport was returned yesterday, a 4 week turnaround. Settlement visas are now not put in the passport but are issued as a biometric residence permit card instead. Or she can just renew the passport if you return for a visit to Thailand before the expiry date.
