    Awful news.

I was going to take a boat to Phi Phi today or yesterday so glad I have not.

l went for a swim at Patong Beach yesterday and the waves were strong and trying to drag me out towards the sea.

    Hopefully they find those missing.

It's an awful incident that we should never have had to read about, if the captains had heeded the advice to stay in port.

China must be at a tipping point with Thailand. I know there were meetings a few months back when China was making representation to Thailand about the numbers of Chinese tourists dying in Thailand and after more needless and avoidable deaths, it will be interesting to see how they react?

I've been on countless ferries in Thailand and there has always been life jackets. It's the passengers without said jackets that probably drowned on this occasion
