Default Contract of employment needed for SV?

Hi all, after reading the Frogsters guide for the settlement Visa, I noticed he added a Contract of employment to his application, is this mandatory or was he going belt and braces, so to speak? The reason I ask, is I asked my employer for new copy of my contract 5 months ago when I started the visa process and he still hasn't sorted it out yet. I leave for Thailand in a week and I've got no faith that it will be ready for me. I've worked for my employer for 15+ years and a lot of things have changed since I got my first contract, so I want an updated one for the Visa if necessary.

    Thanks in advance.

    Andy.

You don’t need to supply a copy of your contract of employment, however you do need to provide a letter from your employer on letterhead paper stating that you are employed, length of service and current salary.

Thats brilliant, thanks for that Stu, much appreciated. I do have a letter, so I'll just add that.

    Cheers.

To be honest a contract of employment is not a lot of good as it only shows you AT SOME TIME had that job.
A letter printed on company letterhead paper with todays date is much more evidence that you CURRENTLY have that job.
