Hi all,

Tomorrow marks 60 working days since we applied for my 14 year old stepdaughters visa to join her mum in the UK.

Today we received an email informing us that the decision will not be made within the target time. The usual automated email.

Unfortunately, the processing of your application has not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible.

We will write to you again if there is any change to this. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been advised that your application has been decided and that your passport is ready for collection.
I'm not too fussed as all I could know is that this is due to visa application demand.
Is there a time frame for after the 60 day window?
I was hoping she would have been here for my daughters 3rd birthday which she obviously won't be now.

We also haven't paid the IHS. We have a IHS reference number but the payment for this was 0.
My belief/hunch is that the website assumes that the parent has ILR and as such the child does not need to pay. We will wait for UKVI to request payment as they are a pain to contact.

Also, is it normal for UKVI to keep some of the documents?
I have pretty much got everything back minus the evidence we sent for my wife's contact with her daughter and a letter addressed to local council.

We also have received no contact i.e. phone call to wife/ her mum from UKVI
