Settlement granted with ILE - thanks everybody

A very happy man today!!! My girlfriend got her settlement visa with no interview, on the first attempt, with INDEFINITE leave status so valid for 5 years and we are not even married.
I know this would not have been possible without all the help of members on this site, be it directly or indirectly.

A big thank you to all of you.

Congratulations, but I don't think that statement of yours is correct. So I suspect your day is just about to get even better!!!

The visa .... Indefinite Leave to Enter? If so the date on such a visa is merely the latest date that the visa can be used to enter the UK for the first time! So once entry to the UK has been done using that visa the date can be totally ignored .... thus the ILE really is indefinite!

Let me guess .... the stated date on the visa is the expiry date of the passport into which it has been put?

If for some strange reason the visa is not used to enter the UK before the stated date, well yes, the visa will expire. But that is not going to happen, is it.

That sounds great!!

Multiple Entry for 5 years. I know a few Aussies and Kiwis that would be envious of that one as they have just had there wait for the ILR extended from 4 years to 5 years

The rules seem to be changing very quickly indeed, Highly Skilled Migrant Visa's are being suspended at the moment, pending further clarification.

Student visa's look as if they will be next.

Hi all members,
i will have to wait until my girlfriend (jenny) returns to answers somen of your questions, and that i will surley do, plus give what advise i can to help others on this forum, I owe it!!

Thank you for everything and especially thank you for your congratulations. Anybody that has been through this awful period of waiting and anticipation is the only person who knows what it is like. Friends and family ARE friends and family, but with all the best intentions they do not go through that time you spend waiting while somebody else decides your future.
