Swiss-France Trip Visa Needs

I wonder if anyone can advise. We want to go to a place in France, quite near Switzerland. We will be flying in to Geneva airport (Switzerland), then going straight acress the border to France by car.

I believe that my wife (Thai with UK ILR) doesn't need any visa for Switzerland, and needs a Schengen visa to get into France.

Can anyone confirm that that is right?
