As cigarettes in Thailand are considerably cheaper than even duty free cigs here (or were last time I was there); why would you want to exceed the allowance anyway?

The guy that got caught bought them in Abu Dhabi.There is also the fact that you cannot get some brands in Thailand. Mervyn for 1 likes Dunhill International which you cannot get for love nor money.

Read elsewhere some body was charged £3000.00 and had five packs of cigarets confiscated by customs for being over their duty free allowance at the new airport. (forewarned is forearmed) seems they are going to town on duty free allowances.
