Melnathan. This is one of the problems with the LIUK test, and many only have the opton of the ESOL route. Good luck to your wife.

failed 71%. Please can UK immigration send me to Ubon . I was particularly impressed with the questions which are of course commonplace knowledge to UK natives. I was saying only the other day "wouldn't it be fantastic if every immigrant knew the year women were given the right to vote or divorce"!!!

And of course if 'they' know the UK population to the nearest million, then of course they will assimilate quicker.

One things for sure....if you're in a pub quiz..take your thai wife...easy win.

Col, have to disagree. It's a straightforward exam. Revise and pass or don't revise and fail.

Chaps, come on. This test isn't designed for the indigenous population, particularly for those that haven't been to school for God knows how long.

Vanbobble, 83% this time, but when you're at the Pitman Centre faced with the real test then you are likely to come unstuck with a far greater array of questions.

All this negativity is bound to rub off on the wives. Be positive, surely.

Link, I don't think you need to keep worrying about people encouraging their wives or partners to wing the test, or not putting in the effort needed to pass the test.

I think it goes without saying anyone approaching the test with such an attitude is doomed to failure, and quite rightly so in my opinion.

The negativity probably stems from the subject matter being tested, and whether it is useful or relevant to anyone looking to integrate into the British society.

My wife's not stupid and even she knows learning about things like famous battles or inventions wont benefit her in any way, shape or form.
