The wife has heard from her family this guy passed away some time ago. She was shocked as she saw nothing in any newspapers. Can anyone confirm this as fact? I hired him and his entourage to play at my stepson Bank's pre 'monkdom' party in 2005. He is/was the No. 1 Khmer singer, well known in Southern Esarn. I always thought his name was pronounced Ra Kon Koi, but not on this clip.

    Any confirmation would be appreciated.

    Dave.

Remember Chester, his deputy, who eventually became McCloud.

Remembered largely for a couple of hits of my generation, but a talented all-round musician by all accounts. He almost joined 10cc.

He made some great melodic pop records but he always makes me think of the Yorkshire Ripper whenever I hear him. For some reason 'Wearside Jack' the nutter who threw the police off the trail for so long used a bit of 'Thank You For Being A Friend' on one of his early tapes.

RIP Martin Rushent, 62. Massively influential record producer/engineer. Produced Buzzcocks, Stranglers, XTC and, probably most importantly, the Human League's 'Dare'. My favourite though:

Cheers handyman brings back a bit of my youth

Whilst on this thread the man who did the voices of Zippy & George in Rainbow died today who apparantly also did the voices of the Daleks and Cybermen in Dr Who R.I.P.

No wonder he couldn't solve any crimes. I always knew who'd done it before he did.

    RIP.
