£70 more! I think I would have gone for that instead of trekking all the way to Gatwick and having to pay for parking.
How many in the family I suppose might make a difference but you have to be looking at a good £120+ for parking and then the cost and time getting down there.

I know it's always a judgement call on these things though.

Try purple parking www.purpleparking.com e.t.v as gives me a good price at LHR and they have a Gatwick site and most airports too. You drive there park and get a bus to your terminal and vice versa on return.

e.t.v. Britannia Hotels own the Europa Hotel just off the A23/M23 and do a shuttle bus to the Airport. They have special deals on their website where a family room including dinner and breakfast can be as little as £50 for the night and they allow parking for the airport too (it's not mega "secure", but always lots of cars there and never heard of issues). Might be worth a consideration, save you some moeny and means you can travel down the night before if needed?

I've used Gatwick twice and stayed the night before at the Russ Hill Hotel including Parking, not sure if it would be cheaper than Ian's recommendation though. Plus you have to pay for the shuttle bus both ways.

Just googled it. Never realised that was a Brittania hotel too ....

Knowing we could " Late check out " our BKK hotel for only 200 baht,,,, and Having followed the all the Arab Airline flight prices for mths we thought this was a good deal !
Until Sunday July 1st when the 8.30 Flight appeared on many sites for £551..

    Why Isn't £544 still cheaper than £551.
Cheaper option better if the times are still convenient, which they must be as you booked them

3 half years wow, don't think I could stay away that long.
As for the many a debate on here about should you but early or wait. I'm in the buy early camp so at least I know I am going (and when).

Wife going on British passport but entering LOS on her Thai one!

Anyway, good luck with your trip hope you have a great time and come back and post a trip report so we can all be jealous as hell.

wow nearly the same as us its been over three years since we last went, wife has already travelled on her uk passport albeit only to Tennerife.
looking throught the web sites what ive paid seems to be the average and it was a last minute idea to goso cant really grumble.
Anyway thanks for the heads up on the parking,
I would normally go by coach and enjoy the drinks on the flight back, but with the kids in tow its probaly a better idea to just jump in the motor and shot straight back home.

    Advise please.
I want to go to Thailand in December. As I will have no annual leave left, I need to travel between 21 Dec and 2 January, to take advantange of public holidays and weekends and minimise the days without pay I need to take.
Should I book and pay now, or do airlines have a sale at some stage closer to December.

Book now Jimmbo. In my experience, from now until December, flights for December just keep going up and up.

    - - - Updated - - -

Since booking my flight with Eva in the middle of March it has gone up by £75 so far.

Like yourself i take full advantage of the public hols/weekends and our own company shutdown in December.

It works out for me 31 nights in Thailand, 15 days holiday used, flying back on New Years Day afternoon (13.10) from BKK, back into LHR 19.10.

Then back to work next day

No doubt this will open up the whole book early/late debate.
For me, if you want to know that you are going to be able to go and return on certain dates then the earlier you book the more chance there are seats available.
No doubt there may be cheaper options nearer the time but will they be the dates that you want!
    Book it now jimmbo

Have to agree, James. Just checking WestEast and an indirect via Seoul, journey time 18hrs 10mins, at 843.98 pounds is about right.

I would add that as you are holidaying for such a short time, though understand you want to see Nat, is this money well spent? It's a hypothetical question, mate.

Lots of ads and sites show good prices at any time of the year but the small word "from" is always in there to cover the advertisers back i.e. there may be one seat at that price.

The only time I ever went to LOS at Christmas/New Year time I got a cancellation and flew on Boxing Day 2004 (Tsunami year and landed the day after it) which cost me around £700 but taxes have gone up since then never mind demand.
