Default UKBA Update - 15 Weeks Wait

    Hi All

The UKBA have put a press release on their website today saying those applying for Settlement Visas can expect to wait up to 15 weeks at the moment.

    #########################################
    20 February 2013
The UK Border Agency in Thailand is currently experiencing a large volume of visa applications. As a result we are currently processing settlement visa applications outside our customer service target of 95% of settlement applications within 12 weeks.
Until further notice, settlement applicants can expect to wait up to 15 weeks for a visa decision. During this time we ask that you do not contact our visa information service or the British Embassy to enquire about the status of your application (unless it is a genuine emergency) as we will not be able to provide further information.
We are currently working on our resourcing to reduce processing times and will provide an update on this website in due course. We apologise for any inconvenience.

    ##############################################

I personally feel a bit better as at least I can see a reason why ours is taking so long. I'm on 13.5 weeks now!

Cheers all from Mark and Orn

    Default Up to date figures

    Hi All

UKBA has released the figures for decisions made in January as below. We're still in the unlucky 16% that's not been processed yet and currently on 70 working days. Good luck to all waiting.

Considering a Cha-am visit to collect her when it comes through now...the waiting has some benefits!

    Cheers Mark

I have still got my fingers crossed for you Mark but changing the subject to distract you from the wait what hotel do you use in Cha am or have you a place there? as Dao and I often stay in CA rather than HH and generally stay in one of the small guest houses on the front although we did the Regent a while back before Holiday Inn took over.

    Hi Colin

I will check the name of the hotel we stayed at last time and email you it as that was the best one - I can't remember right now and I'm away with work....

On a good note - her application is ready for collection so we will know tomorrow if she has been given her visa.

    Cheers from Mark

    Hi Colin

We stayed at Bannpantai Resort on the sea front last time. It's the nicest place I have stayed at Cha-am and under £200 for four nights for both of us B&B. They also did the best Pad Thai I have had in Thailand at 100 baht!

Orn was told testerday - Has her Visa!.
She will be arriving in the UK in around 10 days as we have some things to sort out first.

Thanks to all who have helped - no doubt I will be on other threads with questions about other things, such as changing her name, NI Number, etc.

    Thanks from Mark and Orn

Handed in on the 2nd April, received an email on the 14th May stating a decision has been made, despatched on the 15th and arrived today at less than 6 weeks including holidays.
Many thanks to everyone on this forum who have provided invaluable advice and guidance !

Handed in 22 April received an email on 23 may so exactly one month haven't picked up yet, one wonders whether it has been refused without further investigation due to the short processing time

My wife and daughter had their ILR - Settlement visa's today (Residence Permits) and it took just under two months though that was partly due to the UKBA requesting some more documents.
