Thanks Dick. Knowing that Elephant Brand Jasmine rice is available in 20kg sacks will save me lugging the stuff from here next time Wan goes to the UK. We tried the Muang Thai shop in Moordown before, but they only sold 5kg bags and it wasn't the right stuff apparently.

    Nick,

Found the same thing, in Chrome it reminded me of loading an old Spectrum game or using a very very slow modem in the early days of the internet, apparantly hosted in Bangkok :-S

I am really surprised that the website is so poor for this company, they are the supplier to all of the Thai Restaurants / Supermarkets that i know of and would have expected a lot better. Was hoping to get a wholesale price list from the site but looking doubtful

Nigel. I think you are confusing it with this.

Excuse me Compass Call that is not factually correct.

I wrote back to you explaining that the website didn't load.
To my knowledge you never replied to my contact.

It appears to me that we have a Thai establishment with a website that doesn't load and a shop that doesn't open when it says it should. If they manage to get their act together at any stage then give us a shout and we can consider listing it on Thailand-UK.

    Thanks

    Hi Dave
It is definately the Bournemouth Talard Thai who are the importers of Thai products supplying Restaurants and Supermarkets throughout the UK. Their label, with the website www.talardthai.com is on most of the products you buy.
This is from a thread i started quite some time ago regarding becoming an importer of Thai fruit and veg - never happened !!

I bought some stuff from the Thai Market in Edinburgh the other day. The website for wholesalers that imported the stuff is here. (http://www.talardthai.com/content/aboutus.asp?p=2)

Thanks for that Nigel. That seems quite a comprehensive and excellent site. First time I've seen the thai word for market spelt with an "r".

    Default Talard Thai

    Hi Lee

They are wholesaler to trade rather than retail shop, been their some years, possibly the biggest Thai fresh vegetable & fruit importer in the uk.

These people along with four or five other's constitut as bringing in the many Thai --Thai prodcuts sold, rather than the others bringing in Coconut milk, Nam-pla, soy sauce, which now seems any Tom, Dick & harry have access to

Would not list them as often once the days in going freight is sorted and the out going delivered they are then off home, they are partly bangkok based, Fax for ordering works.
