hey guys can i just confirm what you need, my daughter will be 2 months old when i do this next month in bkk and ive read conflicting advice else where.

Me and the wife have been married for 2 years now.

    what i think i need-

    Passport application C2
    My birth certificate long version
    affirmation to marry
Thai marriage certificate - Translated and stamped
My wife's birth certificate - Translated and stamped

I can take these to the British embassy and pay for the passport with a debit card? and its job done?

    conflicting comments seen-

Im confused as other places have said the daughter needs a Thai id card (which i don't think they usually get till 9/10yr old) and a thai passport

I need to register the birth at the British embassy as well as apply for a passport

a big thanks in advance - ty

She doesn't need a Thai ID card or a Thai passport, and you don't need to register the birth at the Embassy.

The registering the birth gives your daughter a UK style Birth certificate only, serves no real purpose, and costs a fortune.

A passport requires similar documents to registering a birth.

I don't see that anyone has answered this ... I think that the answer is NO ... THB only I think ... someone else may be able to confirm.
