I thought I'd recommend this Book as an Xmas pressie for anyone wanting either a good read or an Excellent recipe book.
It tells the story of Andy Ricker who travelled Thailand (in particular Chiang Mai) and opened a shack in Oregon, USA - its a bit of a rags to riches story as he now has 4 restaurants one very famous one in NY.
Anyway the photos are great and the recipes and writing/stories interesting - it originally caught my attention as an article I read he mentioned SP Chicken in Chiang Mai (a shack type of restaurant) where I used to eat often....
I'm only just getting stuck into it and have found it much more interesting and real than the David Thompson Bible (it's less chefie and more the real thing in my opinion)
