Can't remember how much I paid the last time maybe 1600 baht, don't forget there is an air con bus for 120 per person to Jomtian I'm told it's quite good.

Bell Travel operate the bus service from the lower floor right at the far end (as if coming in to airport) and once at Pattaya bus station you then get transferred to a minibus to get taken to your hotel. Good service for the money.
The last service I believe is 6pm (could be wrong).
And make sure you choose the correct side of the desk to get your ticket as Bell Travel share it with the normal bus service.

If you want a taxi you can get one straight to Pattaya, Inside you will pay anything from 1200 baht for a small car up to 2 or 3000 for a bigger car/ 4x4.
Otherwise go outside and the metered taxi rank is there, you will have to queue and depending on when you arrive it could be busy.

My choice, if I arrive in time, is Bell Travel.

Personally after a long flight taxi is my choice. I have used these on several occasions and had no problem, see the price is now 1500 one way. http://thelimopattaya.com/rates/

Was at BKK Swamppy last Friday to meet friends of family flying in from Seoul , took them to the taxi rank (outside ) take a ticket , go to your lane , number on your ticket , there will be a 50 baht surcharge added , make sure they use the meter . they were only going downtown not Pattaya ..
Plenty of hotels around the airport for nights stopover , some at reasonable cost , then move on the next day after a nights sleep , just another option ...
    Have a safe trip

been using Mr T taxis based in Pattaya for 8 years. Price has always been the same 1000B for BKK pick up into Patts - book from UK - always there to meet me and drivers are very good and speak good English. The flight is not so arduous that you would need a sleep over, unless, of course you particularly wanted to stay in Bangkok.

Get the address of your hotel written in thai with maybe a little printed map in thai. Taxi drivers English ability is highly variable.
Or use your smartphone of course.

That's very cheap. Even if toll charge in on top.

I have travelled from Suvanabhumi to Mabprachan or vice versa (North East Pattaya) by taxi three times in the last few months. The most I have paid is 1300 and the cheapest was 1200 (nearly all asked for far more). On the last trip - going to the airport - I was recommended to a private taxi service operated by a Thai lady and her associates. That journey was probably the best taxi journey I've ever had - pleasant driver, very clean car, no rattles, bangs or the seemingly endemic knackered wheel bearing noise. He also turned up bang on time. I'd been quoted 1300 and that's exactly what the driver asked for - I did tip him a bit though. I'm almost certain this company will pick you up from the airport too - PM me if you want the number.

I guess on should book before planning to be at their designated spots. You'll find many locals who'll be offering you cheap and most cost effective price of traveling .

Whats all the Sydney limo links for?
Judging others before you have met isn't a wise option.

I've been to and from Pattaya to the airport for the last 6 months. I never pay more than 1000 and I'm right up near the football stadium. If you look online you'll be flooded with taxi services coming down in price. Anything above 1300 is a robbery.

I did plenty of research recently for my upcoming trip and you'll pay around 1000 to 1200 for a private car service inc tolls. Not sure what a Meter Taxi will cost...?
