I saw that our bookings were confirmed and I was able to select our seats for both the outward and return legs.
I've looked at travel trolley with Eva Air flying in August and the price is £775.00

We paid £2190 for three of us on Premium Economy with Eva Air for August, i.e. around £730 each. We booked on Boxing Day - Eva Air had emailed me that they were holding an Xmas flash sale - and I was directed to Travel Trolley through Kayak as it was cheaper than booking direct with Eva Air.

Anyone ever tried this outfit? An Aussie guy in Pak Chong recommended them and says they've saved him thousands on business class fares.

I'll let someone else try this first. If successful, then please let me know.

Its also worth checking in on ATOL now and again. They are fully aware that there is fake websites and scams associated with the travel industry.

From the little I have read its against air mile terms, have you looked in more detail?

It would be for me a last resort to book via an agent in the UK and I would be very careful even then, no ebookers or such like never mind one that's in Hong Kong.

I like to have only one set of rules governing my tickets.

I understand reluctance regarding the onlyflyfirstclass site - that's why I was asking but UK agents? I've booked scores of flights with UK agents, mainly Southall and their subsidiaries, saved thousands and never had a problem.

Just the way I roll and to be fare Its my day job so I can book for myself but its a bit like insurance you never know how good they are until you need their help.
And to reiterate I dont like the extra layer of rules I would rather pay a bit extra to avoid it.

Looking back I believe N Barton didnt have a very good experience with an agent.

Enough there to put me off the scent Manfarang.

To be fair the topic only came up as I was talking about the fact that I can't return to Thailand for 5 months due to my forthcoming hip replacement. I have to have not had a long haul flight for 8 weeks before they will do the op and a further 3 months after. Which is a bit of a pain because I wanted to get my house finished but after the last shenanigans, nothing is happening unless I'm there. Apparently, the main reason for the 3 month wait after the op is down to the angle that your hip joint is at on an economy seat - exactly the wrong one. So I was thinking, get a business class ticket, problem solved - but I'm not paying £1700 for business when economy will be £450. 5 months it will have to be.

Check out EVA premium economy. I believe the seats recline more. Certainly more leg room.

Too true, I am still awaiting cancellation invoice from Travel Trolley for flights on 3rd December so that I can progress my insurance claim. I sent them another email today and they are saying to wait another 2 to 3 weeks before another chase will be needed!

What makes it all the more ridiculous is that this is for my wifes and sons tickets, which I booked at the same time as daughter's and mine (they keep on referring to me as Mrs), but the tickets I booked through Travel Bag for my daughter and me (same flight out, different return) were sorted in December, with cancellation invoice received and they refunded the £68.06 to my credit card on 3rd Jan, if they can do it, why can't Travel Trolley

lol I must have booked over around 600 round trip tickets for myself friends and family (and half of Bristol) Of that 600 (give or take) around 25 were from the airlines own website and the rest from the likes of Crystal Travel Travel Trolley and other 3rd party agents.
Only ONCE did I ever have a problem whereby Oman had bumped me off the return sectors as had overbooked by 43 seats. I was only aware when i tried to check in online. Went in travel agents in pattaya explained situation and told her to ring Oman. They retorted saying they had booked me on Sri Lanken to which I retorted with a response unprintable here.
Got hold of Travel Trolley on the trumpet and told them to put a rocket up Omans arse

Hour later call back reinstated and in business class. I'd love to know how much I have paid TT over the years must be well into 6 figures all up

Im well aware you have a un-faltering admiration of Travel Agents, might even be one considering your comments and your experiences may well be good, Im happy for you.
But its all about choice, just because I choose not to use them requires no derision from you thanks.

I just booked a one way bkk/kul/lhr with Malaysia air, 9,480 baht, they are now using the A350, they have 27 seats 3 rows of 3,3,3 with 36 inch leg room at an additional 2,500 baht i think, its a separate space between business and economy, not quite premium, available as an extra at booking time, also emergency door extra leg room seats at 1,500 baht, returns were coming in at 23,745 baht, early may out return early Sept, same dates in reverse were coming in at £710

    info on A350 with a seat plan - https://www.malaysiaairlines.com/uk/...ence/a350.html
