Default EVA £429 out of Heathrow October 2 month trip

Right place right time. Was just booking first of the Winters trips outbound 10th October inbound 9th December and Eva was 4th lowest behind Oman
Long time since I have seen Eva that low. Booked with Travel Trolley eticket within the hour, checked as always with Amadeus and all good

Fill your boots at that pricing

Shouldn't we be having a sticky 'Latest Airfare Bargains 2018'???

Not sure if you're trying to have a pop but if I had added it to that particular thread it likely would have been missed by many. Clearly the post got picked up by another forum as it got copied and pasted as I was literally on it cheeky sods !
It stands out and I dont think that price will last long. I can only recall that low a price back when they flew out of Gatwick

Not trying to have a pop at all - we've had such a thread for several years and I've just noticed that there isn't one this year. I doubt it would get lost as its a thread that a lot of people follow.

You booked (just) out of season, 6 months in advance, the general rule for getting the lowest fares. I arrived Bangkok Saturday just gone April 21, £506 with Emirates, booked 28 September 2017. Compared to last year's April trip 04 to 20 April 2017, £1344 booked 12 March 2017 (but then I did return to Thailand four times last year). Dates encompassed the Easter break, booked only 5 weeks before, outward flight on a Friday - the day of the outbound/inbound flight has an effect, it seems that Wednesdays are the cheapest days to fly out.

I'm sure other opinions are out there, but this being my 6th trip to Thailand since December 2016 it's what I've found.

I can say that Flip was not trying to have a pop at all and not sure why you would think that at all from what he has written.
If you knew the forum slightly better you would know that there is always a sticky thread on latest air fares for each year, unfortunately the update to the thread has been missed for some reason this year.

    Mr T
We seem to have missed out on starting (updating) a new thread for 2018.

......and if you had read "slightly" more carefully you'd have already noted the reason I didnt.

PEL221 I dont think theres any particular sweet spot for booking. I normally do it 4 weeks or so in advance and rarely is it cheaper before or after.
On that particular booking whilst I was scanning prices in general I had no intention of booking yet. Having that pop out was a no brainer on this occasion though. Prices are a lot more though for that 2nd winter trip starting January 10th for couple months but we are very early days on that one

Just looking at my log on Eva pricing and can see that I used them out of Gatwick in April 1993 but it was on Evergreen Deluxe then (elite now) not in economy
It was £478. Wonder what economy was then

We have indeed, Gary. As we are well in to 2018, I've just changed the topic title

I tracked the prices for all my flights 6 or 7 months ahead, but due to work commitments was only able to book a few months (5 weeks in the case of last April's flight) in advance. Emirates seem to withdraw their 'Economy' fares leaving only 'Economy Plus' (includes a cancellation/rebooking deal) about 4 months before the flight. The seat is no different. I've seen prices fluctuate from £1 to £10 in a week, and by bigger amounts over two to three months. I remember the travel writer Simon Calder saying the best time to book is 13 weeks before the flight. Supply and demand.

Obviously dont know exact outbound date in January out of Manchester but random entry of 14th Jan gives

    Finnair £451
    Etihad £481
    Emirates £495

All above standard connections.... Left out Swiss and Cathay because long connections

This was the link but they do expire pretty quick so if you are reading some hours later or tomorrow likely to have to restart

Have checked link and currently "live"

Its an excellent price for what is effectively a 12 month ticket bracket. Actually comes out the cheapest of any carrier at all on Travel Supermarket amazingly with BY0jet UK at £464 as you say. Couple of other online agents are just a few quid higher so definately I would ping that now as clearly legit
Have just emailed some clients with that offering thats an excellent find Steve187

Agreed prices much higher. Can get Emirates lower at £538 but with much longer connection times outbound to long to justify that slightly cheaper price
