    Default biometrics submission

    Hi there
We submitted FLR by post about 10 days ago & got letter back telling us to submit biometrics for my wife.
the letter was quite contradictory. it states you don't have to bring ID as you have submitted them for your application. then in the next Paragraph it asks for it.so i am a bit confused!
    also what happens after submission.

do we get a receipt ?
Do we have to send anything back to home office?
    thanks for you help
    regards

You ( as in your wife) have to go to one of the designated post offices and take the letter from the Home Office with you. Some POs want you to make an appointment.. You cannot take anything else to ID your self really because you have submitted it already..Pay the money and get photos and fingerprints done..The Post office send it off .You should get a receipt for paying..Then you should get the bio card perhaps a week or so before your visa /passport...

Thanks for the reply tudorowen that's put my mind at rest!
One other thing i have been told that the bio card is actually the FLR visa .as there will be nothing in my wife's passport is that correct?

Cheers for that mate & good luck!
we successfully submitted the bio metrics today.

    a word of warning though
Make sure the designated post office does actually do the biometrics. I would research it maybe even give the PO were you plan to go a call.

don't rely on the PO site.

from their site i printed off a list with of the biometrics PO's in my area
the first one we went to (my local one) didn't do them.
i know the guy who runs the PO & told me they have never done biometrics at his PO..Fortunately i have a friend who's wife works at a PO were they definitely do them so we went there.
Once again thinks for your reply & good luck.

It’s mostly main branch post offices that do biometrics, not local ones.

Maybe but according to the list i printed off from PO site, some local ones do biometrics
i should have guessed really as some of the one's that were listed didn't even have to correct address.
just trying to make sure people don't go through what me & my wife did!
