How old is she, and does her mother have British citizenship?
Can somebody please point me in the right direction as to applying for British citizenship for My Thai Step daughter please, she has been in the U.K. now for 5 years legally on a ILR. I've just not have the time, money or patience to apply. I now think its the correct time to do this as we are planning on a holiday to Spain this year so rather than messing around with schengen visa's I may as well sort it all out for good.
Thank you Lads

Hello Tobias, and thank you for your reply she is 14 years old and her mother has British citizenship also a British passport. I've been quite lazy in the last 5 years and not sorted this out.
this is the uk gov link for everthing you will need it seems children are a bit cheaper and dont have to do the lituk test and i sure i have read somewhere she will be able to keep her thail citenzship as well .Not much change out of a standard £1000 as usual lol.i would suggest get your skates on for this trip to spain just for the passport will take upto 6 weeks sometime longer.good luck.https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen
Am I better off filling out the mn1 form online to get a quicker and easier job done
or is it better doing it by good old paper and post this way I can use the national checking service.
im afraid thats as far i can with help on this ,and advice im sure someone will come along and help you more .
Come on Tobias, where are you, you have always put me in the right direction .
I am living on aircraft or at airports at present, so not in any one place for more than a few hours! This means very little time to do anything not work related. Last night I arrived in Singapore ... and am shortly heading back to the airport.
Have a look at the following official guidance, you should find your answers there: https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...nuary_2017.pdf

I think she may use the Joint Citizenship and Passport service at some NCS.

Well I've had a quick look at the form and the first 2 questions have got me..
question 1 Under which would you like the application considered ???
question 2 state any reference numbers used in your immigration application???
Thanks Tobias, I will have a look through all the paperwork.
I've just had a look through the old paperwork, and I can not see anything as I did not do this application.
I had to use a visa lawyer in Bangkok recommended to me via a fellow member of Thai uk.
The lawyer "orchid of Siam, Anthony Kierans
was excellent first class all the way. I've just emailed his Bangkok office to see if they can help me with this reference number.
If she received any letters from the Home Office, then her reference number should be there. Sometimes, they also write her reference number on the back page or cover of her passport.
