I think they signed a contract to hold it for a minimum of 3 years:
This week in Issan the Kuy (Sui, Kui, Suay, umpteen names for the same group, mainly famous for association with Elephants) and Khmers will have ceremony's and give offerings to the Ancestors, all sorts of offerings and goodies available from local venders and in the local market... Mrs was at a ceremony the other day... Im picking Mother-in-Law up on Monday shes been in Seoul for a few months and she will conduct a family ceremony upon return, I think this weekend is for the main ceremonies. I asked Mrs about younger people speaking Kuy she says the younger generation tend to speak Central Thai with the older generation speaking Thai, Kuy or Khmer (in this area) to each other, sad to hear a ancient language may disappear.

24DEC18. They got the bushes and trees out / around the Old pond, but did nt do a good job of levelling out the bottom, they claimed was too moist (like a slurry) Mrs not happy told the operators to mix dry soils / earth first, then take it out, pointing out to me "what's wrong with them, their brain cells don't work" Oh Dear, she feels they want the money but not put in the effort, blames herself for not being there at the crack of dawn to supervise.

My Xmas day treat, chopping down sister / brother in laws jungle, dug out the weeds bushes, trees from the channel, put a membrane down, and filled in with ornate white size two stones. Was boiling hot, no turkey legs and christmas pudd for this lad.
