Travel Insurance

I’m looking to purchase travel insurance for my wife who is now resident in Thailand. Would anyone recommend a company ? I did a quick google search and got a quote for a 1 week trip of 800 baht.

BUPA is the best that I found.

Definitely BUPA or secondly AXA or Aviva..but I am pretty sure it will have to be taken out in Thailand..so may mean going to Bangkok or Hua Hin or some other city..

I booked BUPA for my wife with BUPA Thailand online from the UK. An annual policy for her first year here was £80 back in 2016.

I used BUPA Thailand but went into their Hua Hin office..Axa were just as competitive but did not go beyond a 90 day visit..

Thank you tudorowen1 for your reply. I would generally buy travel insurance as a couple but 800 baht a a seven day trip appear expensive compared to the UK in my opinion.

Just back from a week in Laos tonight used AXA (online) was around 350 baht (or less) each, depending on what cover you want, also do for Schengen countries if needed, Thai residents.

Many Thanks Sisaket for your reply. Tried to book online last night with Axa but the limit on my wife’s ATM card is very low...once we have got that sorted l with try again.

Maybe they dropped the annual policy but I bought it for my wife back in February 2016.

Travel insurance with Tui to Thailand for 2 weeks "£270.00" for two. Is that right,?
That's using first choice /Tui travel insurance.

Not unless you both are about 150 years old with every serious medical condition known to man. Try somewhere like moneysupermarket.

Been looking at Annual Travel Insurance for this year, had brief looks at Chubb - AXA - Allianz and AIG, not in a hurry atm won't want mine to start until at least end FEB and cant see Mrs wanting any until AUG so plenty of time to through the " Not Pay Out For ..... blah blah "
Not seen any yet for 150 yr limit only up to 85 yrs.
