I'm imagining people will come out and say it was only a durian etc, etc. Echoes of that chap who shot the burglars in his Norfolk farm years back.

I'm not condoning shooting people, especially in the dark of night, but if people constantly encroach on someone's land and take what's not theirs don't be surprised if that person breaks. If there are any lessons to be taken it should be the consequences of stealing what's not yours.

I think the salient point here is (from the article):

'Police said the farmer, named as Sukhon Sutthirak, encountered several armed men in his orchard'

If those men were indeed armed, that changes everything for me.

Problem here is it's highly unlikely we'll hear what happened next. You often reaf these stories, but many times you never hear anymore about the incident.

The price of Durian is up this year so "Tea leafing" the commodity would be a rewarding endeavor, however an unsurprising outcome ..... Mrs went to a Durian Festival in Si Sa Ket and said prices are higher this year.

Still won't be anywhere near the £46 sticker on one, in one of the Chinese supermarkets in Leeds last week.

That is a serious amount of loot, I had no idea of their cost in the UK, as much as I like Durian there is no way Jose of me shelling out £46 for one.
