I believe the ban is from 6pm on Saturday until 6pm on Sunday.
In the past bars, particularly in Pattaya, bars would ignore the ban and the police turn a blind eye - Not too sure that will be the case nowadays

Fortunately there is no ban on drinking alcohol so the best advice would be to plan ahead. Get a stock from 7-11 and enjoy

Election is 24/03/19 so this w/e should be fine.
Hope so anyway as I am popping down to Pattaya on Sunday for a few days.

I think this weekend there is a "round of pre-voting", whatever that means
The reports are that the ban is both this weekend and next

This is correct. Quite a few of the bars I visit are posting on Facebook saying they will be shut this weekend AND next.

I am correct in saying that whilst 'bars' may be closed, any hotel, restaurant or 'private' establishments can still serve booze without restriction?
I have a couple of thirsty clients heading to BKK that are looking forward to their first Thai visit. I dont want to disappoint them not having signed the contract yet..........
Judging others before you have met isn't a wise option.

I wouldn't bank on it. When we landed in BKK on the 27th July 2018 I couldn't get an alcohol drink anywhere for 48 hours.

I think that you will find that used to be the case but is not now.
    No Alcohol sales anywhere.

As reported elsewhere, the police in Pattaya are threatening jail to anyone found selling alcohol during the bans on this and next weekend.

    There are 3 Scooters bars
First opened in Soi Buakhao - Just down from Bangkok Bank past TreeTown)
Opened another in LK Metro - Just inside the entrance from Soi Dianna (on the right)
Third one opened in Soi 6 - You obviously know where

    All the same group.

They did open one in Phuket but I believe that has closed now.

Is it the same treatment for anyone found drinking alcohol?
