    Default Citizenship

After finally being granted ILR July this year, my wife applied for citizenship on 7th August 2019, and she received a letter from the home office this morning to say its been approved. Booked the ceremony for 7th November where she will receive her citizenship certificate.

Hopefully by the end of next week she can apply for a British passport

Many Congratulations to you both, send for the passport ASAP, my Mrs had her ceremony at Brent Town Hall (London) as soon as the ceremony was over, she was straight to the photocopier, then we marched by Wembley Stadium to the High Road to the post office and sent off, your Mrs does nt need to be that fast
I think your Mrs will need to attend a small face to face interview for her first passport, my Mrs went to Leicester for hers, I was away at the time, unless things have changed.

Just make sure your wife's new Uk passport is using the same name as her thai passport

Congratulations! You can tell her you've arranged for fireworks to be let off to celebrate for the 2 days beforehand

We've finally reach the end of a long road. The wife received her British passport this morning, 4 weeks after applying.

Processing times for ILR are up to 6 months, but i think they're usually done in around 3 months. There's an option for a 'super priority service' which costs an extra £800 and you'll get a decision in a couple of days.
