Default Asbestos in Thailand Report July 2019.

I came across this tonight. If anyone did not know, Asbestos is still used in construction in TH including roof tiles etc, not all companies use asbestos some have substituted, Chrysotile Asbestos (white) is not banned in TH. I also include a pdf worth a read.

I will remind my wife again that if and when the main family house gets demolished to stay well away when the roof tiles are removed.

If its done slowly and carefully so no dust is produced then that will help but I dont have much faith that will happen.

No asbestos is good but its the brown that I understand is the worse, dont suppose Asbestos is still used in bake pads in Asia is it?

It's the same in Philippines too, I remember trying to explain to a builder it was dangerous....

I took 3 large packs of ffp3 masks over for the better half. Great for when she is tinkering with the farm building and handy to carry when we're on a night bus with people that cough and try their hardest to share all of their germs.

From Cambodia this summer, if you read down to where they sampled 117, it mentions brake pads and gaskets.

This INFO centre is the one who actively promotes using Chrysotile, but does give the answer to the question.
Did you know asbestos was used to embalm Pharaohs in ancient Egypt, and their mummified bodies wrapped in asbestos cloth, just in case that comes up in a pub quiz.
