Can someone confirm whether we are allowed to have friends around the house during this covid 19 illness.
    Thanks

I understand from Monday you can have 6 people around but in your garden only and keeping 2 metres apart

    The Government guidance is:

From Monday 1 June, there are a limited number of things you will be able to do in England that you could not do before:

spend time outdoors, including private gardens and other outdoor spaces, in groups of up to six people from different households, following social distancing guidelines

    You cannot:

visit friends and family inside their homes

When linking to an article always best to provide context, perhaps by quoting the most relevant text, such as:

Pubs could be allowed to reopen as early as next month, after the Prime Minister ordered a review of the six-foot social distancing rule.

Boris Johnson told MPs on Wednesday that he hopes to allow watering holes and restaurants to re-open earlier than July 4 - the date which has been set down in the government's roadmap out of lockdown.

Pubs and restaurants have been closed across Britain since the government imposed the coronavirus lockdown at the end of March.

But, appearing in front of the Liaison Committee on Wednesday, the Prime Minister gave Britons hope that they'll soon be able to enjoy a drink in a beer garden.

He said: 'On hospitality... we are really trying to go as fast as we can. It is really difficult to bring forward hospitality measures in a way that involves social distancing.

'But I am much more optimistic about that than I was. We may be able to do things faster than I previously thought.'

Hope all goes well with this one. BA list flights every day more or less so as you say keep your fingers crossed. I think i am coming back on qatar airways, given up on eva air now because of their times and price increases after cancellations.Number one is that they cover you properly if they cancel

The pinch is being felt in the Basra Oilfields, Shell and BP have already pulled the plug on the majority of their workers and security and last night we were told the ENI (our client) are cutting their staff by about 230 and we are having to cut our teams by just under half, to be used for essential client work only, 36 guys will be gone by the end of July...no money in the oil now, and its starting to bite

Cant remember who or where I was talking to/about the EVA air flights but I received this email this morning:

    FLIGHT CANCELLATION
    ..
    ..
EVA Airways informs: Flight BR68 on 14JUN from LHR to BKK has been canceled. For further information, please visit EVA website or contact your travel agency. We apologize for inconvenience.

That is the grand total of the email. No mention of re-booking. No mention of refund. Now I have the mother in law here for even longer. I feel like I should be able to sue for damages to my nasal passages due to prolonged exposure to fish soup and various other irritants.

At present BA’s schedules show flights during the whole of July. Obviously this is subject to late change. Much will depend on what Thailand’s requirements for foreign travel will be.

Hi Walshie. They did the same with me. You cannot rebook on the website but you can apply for a refund. To rebook we had to phone the EVA air office. In Bangkok it took us an hour to get through and they offered me a seat on the flight on any Sunday in June for an extra £200 on top of the price of my original ticket as my original ticket price was no longer available. I didn't take up on this in case they cancelled again. They made it clear though that you get a full refund without any fees if you go on the website. I am planning to do this sometime this week and go with Qatar instead. I am not sure what happens when there is a travel agent involved. Cheers and good luck

I think there has been a big change in the BA flights in July, not sure why but best take a look at their site to check. Cheers

Yes, the UK quarantine appears to have scuppered BA’s plan to operate flights in July. BA looks like it is about to cancel BKK flights for the whole of July. I’ve had several flights cancelled for July to/from other destinations.

Options? BA will transfer passengers to another airline that is operating on the date, they will rebook (free of charge) to Qatar Airways for example. BA will also allow to change date for free to a date in the future or they will provide a full refund.

BA were my next option for my mother in law to return to Thailand. Realistically it looks like it’s going to be August before she goes back. The one way flights available are insanely expensive. She will only go on a direct flight. She’s too nervous to stop off anywhere.

my wife says she has contacted the embassy and is number 1600~ in the queue for a £550 emergency flight back. It all sounds a bit weird to me!!

How about a direct flight from somewhere in Europe ? SWISS from Zurich for example. You could fly there with her to get her on that plane.
