Five days later do the sums ..The World Health Organisation (WHO) is warning the number of cases is likely to rise further. However, the latest figures released on Friday show the number of confirmed cases has dropped for two consecutive days. It remains to be seen whether this trend continues.

A lot of these videos are real but an awful lot are also fake news. My wife keeps showing me images of Chinese people dropping dead on the spot, as if the Zombie Apocalypse has begun. I believe Thais love this sort of hysteria and feed off it. Imagine the rest of the world started posting videos of the Korat shooting and adding their opinions. I remember when Man City put their name on a Thai flag when Thaksin took over, the muppets were up in arms.

The stats are not accurate as people simply can't tell. How many are dying of flu and not going to the hospital to check? That would add to the numbers. How many are recovering without knowing they had it?
The Chinese Govt certainly acted irresponsibly in the beginning but they've literally condemned a city of 10 million people to death (potentially) in order to contain the virus. It may well be they kept it quiet to avoid people fleeing and spreading it further.

In terms of the Thai PM allowing Chinese into the country and all the butt kissing I'm seeing on the news everyday, kind of sums up what this country has in charge. I read today the cruise liner Japan has just turned away has been invited to sail and stop in Laam Chabang, near Pattaya.

As far as i can see get your nappies ready .this is for real .
An abstract from today's news .

A woman who flew into London from China a few days ago is being treated for coronavirus, bringing the total number of UK cases to nine.Chief medical officer Chris Whitty said the woman was transferred to a specialist NHS centre at Guy's and St Thomas' in central London.
Prof Whitty said the patient had contracted the virus in China.
Sources say she developed symptoms after landing at Heathrow, called NHS 111 and then tested positive.
THIS IS THE BBC REPORTING THIS .
SO A CHINESE WOMEN FLY'S IN FROM CHINA A FEW DAYS AGO OR A WOMEN .??
SHE CALLED THE NHS 111 THEN TESTED POSITIVE THIS IS WHAT I AM READING WHO IS THE JOKE HERE BBC OR UK HOMELAND SECURITY.
BECAUSE WHAT I HAVE JUST READ BEGGARS BELIEVE...
WHAT A FEW DAYS AGO FROM CHINA ARE YOU REAL CHINA SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHUT 20 DAYS AGO .AND IF SOMEONE FLEW IN THEN SORRY QUARANTINE ARE BUT CASH IS KING ONE OF THE FIRST VIDEOS I SAW FROM WHUN WAS FAMILY'S GETTING ON TRAINS AND PLANES AFTER BEING TESTED RICH ESCAPING SEARCH YOU WILL FIND THEM VIDEOS .i dont need a mobile or laptop i just choose to use one .

Does the ethnicity of the woman matter? It is difficult to comment on the news item because you have not provided a link. Chances are this woman is a UK resident returning home, she clearly was not displaying symptoms when she boarded her aircraft home. Why shouldn’t she be allowed to return home or travel to the UK?

It's going to take balls for the first person in the government to stick their head above the parapet and be straight with the UK population but its what's needed.

Anybody have an news on this in Thailand?

Apparently there is now a spike in deaths in China largely because they have started including those diagnosed people diagnosed via CT scans as well as via testing kits. It is obviously viewed badly there as some of the leaders are getting fined. Not really sure what the truth is now ??

There you go, that answers your question! Thailand has allowed unrestricted access to Chinese travelling independently from wherever in China, or elsewhere, that they come from. There are still an estimated 100k Chinese tourists here. The Thai medical people believe they have over 600 carriers here. All they have to do is find them.

After the debacle last week with the Thai health minister and his public outburst about Farangs should be kicked out of TH for not wearing masks (re-virus) Mrs was at the Ministry of Public Health in Nonthaburi today, when she arrived back my first question was "everybody at the ministry wearing masks" and predictably the answer was "no" most people were not wearing masks.

I'm going to be giving the finger print scanner at immigration in suvarnhabhumi airport a bloody good wipe with a disinfectant wipe before I use it, I always give the one I'm going to use a wipe over they are bloody disgusting! No wipes are provided at the immigration point so take your own. I'm hoping Thailand takes this coronavirus seriously they seem to have a devil may care attitude to most things.

I'm in Thailand at the moment, and been told by my UK employer not to come into the office for 14 days after my return, and to work from home. Sensible policy.

Thanks for this very useful and common sense

    - - - - - - - u p d a t e d - - - - - - -

I see today that now in Beijing that people returning from holiday must isolate themselves for 2 weeks. I can see the sense in this for China but it seems a clear double standard that the citizens can go on holiday maybe carrying the virus from China over most of the world (because you cannot be sure on basic checking without symptoms) but they are treated as possible carriers on their return ??? Am I crazy or is this a little odd ?
