Default [Flight] Cost and if [travel] possible [by Xmas]

Ok looking at flights to Thailand this xmas not bad deals online to be had .
But will airlines be flying ? will Thailand let you in ? how about getting back into the UK ? will you have to be isolated both ways ? or do you just take the risk and book .
Also if you went as a couple would you get discount has you take up 2 seats rather than just one ?
Lots of questions here hope they can be resolved as soon as possible .Its all a big IF ?????

I think the big question is; will Thailand introduce a law that only farangs with a certificate of Covid 19 vaccination be allowed in? Not those nice Chinese, of course, they are always welcome but those dirty Westerner type farangs who infect everybody by not wearing a face mask.

Personally, I won't be booking anything for myself until all this has blown over and the dust has settled so that we know exactly what we're letting ourselves in for, although the wife will need to get back to her family sooner rather than later.

    That's a fantastic Idea.

Isn’t it? Now all we need is a vaccine!

I personally don't want to be taking a vaccine for this. Never had a flu jab before, never took the Anthrax one for the desert back in the 00's. Will be interested to see in the future if Air travel will only be permitted for those that have had the vaccine and if that is the case what evidence they will give us to prove this at check-in along with our passports....Conspiracy theorists around the world will be rubbing there hands at this saying 'I told you this would happen'.

Meme of the day ' I must admit I am very impressed how smart the Covid-19 virus really is....It doesn't contaminate you at B&Q, Wickes, The Range, Costco and Supermarkets etc.....but it sure will get you at Pubs, hair salons, nail salons, restaurants, bars and any other small business....tricky little Ba****d !'

Thought of the day 'Have you actually noticed an increase in ambulance activity in your local area since this all started, or is it still eerily quiet'

    Stay safe..

Far from eerily quiet here and there has been an increase in both ambulance and police activity in local area, even mentioned about seeing Bobbies on the Beat for the first time earlier today in another post. Midday on the 1/5/2020 was the last time I saw an ambulance called to a house within a 100 foot of us.

    Tobias,

My honest opinion and gut feeling is this 'virus' isn't as deadly as say the plethora of other diseases in which we are vaccinated from as a child or foreign diseases that are potentially linked with a certain Country.

That doesn't mean I'm one of those cretins that isn't adhering to the rules and acting like 'It won't get me', far from it. I respect that this is a serious 'ish' strain of something and certainly don't want to be getting ill from it. But as mentioned earlier, I will be interested to see what restrictions will be placed on me should I have an option to refuse the vaccine or indeed if any of us will have an option...….

It would be useful if everyone watched the 26 minutes Coronovirus Explained on Netflix, it's not brilliant, just contains a lot of information and I think someone else on here has already mentioned about it.

In particular the herd immunity is mentioned, but as can be seen from history this can result in millions of people dying unnecessarily, but eventually you come out of the other side of it. Now if that route did happen, at the other side people would then be looking at these type of situations:-
    1) No one I cared about died so hey ho all is good
    2) I had close relatives that died and I'm devastated by this
    3) I had close friends that died and their loss has affected me deeply
    4) There were a few of my friends that died, it come as a real shock
    5) There were some people I worked with and knew that died, I feel sorry for their families
    6) I caught it and didn't really suffer, not anywhere near as bad it was made out to be
    7) I caught it and it was just like the flu, knocked me for six, but feel a whole lot better now
    8) I caught it, thought I was going to die, luckily survived, but never want to have something like that again
    9) I caught it, ended up at deaths door, had to be taken to hospital, without their help I would have been a goner.
    10) I caught it, can't remember what happened next, but my family told me that I spent 5 weeks in hospital with a tube down my throat and pulled through, never felt back to square one though and have a lot of after effects.
    11) I caught it... and died.
    12) All the people I work with got it and the company went down the pan as there were so many people off sick at the same time.

Oh, and with point 12, that could happen with the NHS and Funeral Directors, so not only couldn't people get medical assistance, they also couldn't bury the dead, the stench of dead bodies on the streets would be awful! How ridiculous does that sound, only an idiot would say something like that! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-52483279

Then imagine the worst it over and a herd immunity to it is in place, all is good, now Covid 20 comes about, would you then act the same manner?
