    Default Smelly Kitchen

I was wondering what some of you do with the smell of Thai food in our Kitchens?
Most of the smells i've got used to, But the smell of squid just takes it to another limit.
Most of the time the kitchen window is open.

I keep seeing the advert on tv for them Dyson hot+cold air purifier, Has anyone used one? Was wondering if their worth the money
The cost of the item is very expensive.

Haha I’m sure this is one of the most relatable threads on this forum. The other day I came home and genuinely thought one of my kids had been sick. Turned out mother in law had been making fish soup. That is easily the worst offender imo. Worst thing is she left all the bloody doors open so the whole house was stinking!! That incident is their last warning. Automatic closers will be getting fitted if it happens again (I’m not even joking!!)

It’s better to be 6 feet apart than to be 6 feet under.

    1. Fish soup
    2. squid
    3. chickens feet
    4. bamboo (not too bad of a smell but very strong)
    5. Fish sauce
    6. durian
    7. chili’s eye and throat burning delightfullness

I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head but that’s the order I would put the worst offenders in.

For the record holty if your mrs is cooking with any of the above the only thing that will get rid of the smell fast enough would be the wind tunnel at Boeing’s aircraft testing center

I have to put up with all of this but if I make Chilli con Carne, WWIII breaks out. Apparantly it smells like bad armpits !!!!!
If you're offended by any assistance I give, it says far more about you than it does me.

No matter what bus I get on somebody cracks open a bottle of M150. That stuff stinks of feet. It has to be the most repulsive smelling drink known to man so God knows what it tastes like.

I like the taste but actually don't like the smell of Pad Thai oddly.

Fried insects always make me wretch at the market, COVID19 has stopped me smelling them as I've not been to a market in months.

I remember when I dropped a full litre glass bottle of Nam Pla on the kitchen floor place stank for days! It was me so couldn't even blame the ex-Wife LOL!

I seem to recall that incense sticks did the trick which someone else recommended above...

My mrs loves durian walshie, But thankfully she only eats it in Thailand.
I just find the smell of squid too much at times.

I was looking into one of them air purifiers, I watched a video and this lady was so impressed with removing the smell from her husbands cooking using the dyson purifier .
Obviously the smell of certain thai food would maybe not be the same case.

Will do some more research, But the price of the puriefer is way too much.
The certain model i was looking at is £550, Ridiculous amount.

Thanks to everyone for all your replies

Samsung, you’re a lucky man. I have only one drawer in the freezer which has also been invaded over the last few months. Last time I went in I was attacked by a long black smelly sausage snake

We had a pow-wow last week about someone encroaching shelf space in the fridge, I cant get my stuff in, a few weeks ago I gave a advisory about reducing items where possible into smaller containers / dishes we both agreed, only for one of us to do it . Shes been pickling items of some description and friends have been posting pastes.
Going the same way as the wardrobes went, bought three, two for a female and one for a male, after all three were taken by the female had to buy another, then half of that was taken over a now all too familiar pattern.

It's amazing the things we get into arguments about. Sisaket, your reply is so similar to my own situation except I made the bloody wardrobes!! I can't help but wonder if your wife also angrily denies having too many clothes & accessories...
