Sorry for being pedantic, that should be a British passport ... or one issued by a country of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland

If you fill out one of these cards in Thai what happens on arrival in the UK?
I ask because my wife filled her card out in English, only to be asked by immigration if she had filled the card out herself?

The card is supposed to be completed in English.

What would happen if you could not write in English?

I filled one out for the wife, sent it to her and told her to copy it to the one they give you on the plane.

    Fish.

This is a great question Peter has posted. As you've said, there are ways round the problem, as with your example, but essentially the question is, if a visitor can only write in their own language, or maybe cannot even write at all, is there a process at the arrival airport, that caters for this sort of situation?

This should not be a problem in future for those on SV because of the impending English test.

Well at least you would think the authorities would have the common sense to have something like this card as one of the first things to be learnt in English so people arriving for settlement could fill it in on arrival.
On seconds thoughts that ain't going to happen is it
