Brick wall have any airlines cancelled fights to bangkok due to troubles

Now i think what i have just heard via my wifes friend sounds complete rubbish , she says a friend of her husband in the last week was unable to board his flight to thailand, saying, he was informed by officials it was not safe to travel to bangkok ( i still think they are unable to stop you travelling anywhere you wish to go, at your own risk of course ) and would not allow him to travel. Now has she has got this completely wrong or maybe a particular airline has ceased flying there at the present time.Anyone heard anything similar , i feel stupid even posting this but we travel soon with china airlines ourselves so want to confirm this is rubbish and look forward to my well deserved hols ( volcano's permitting of course ( i believe in them haha ).
    thanks,
    neill

My wife is due to fly with China airlines towards the end of this month.

She was due to fly on the 27th, but we had a phone call last week from China Airlines with whom I had booked direct informing us that the flight from Amsterdam to Thailand would not be flying on that day.

We were offered the days either side of the 27th which we were happy to accept.

The information in the post was basically correct if a little mixed up.
Charter flights (T Cook Thompson etc) have indeed been cancelling trips some just hours from departure.

Book flight only and no such restrictions currently apply.
